- May 1956 - Morley and Marilyn Bradshaw
started the business from the family farm selling gas, diesel,
lubricants and heating oil.
- 1963 – Purchased property in Waterford,
Ontario and built their first retail site with a bulk plant
behind. (In 1963 there were 9 retail sites in Waterford,
today only ours remains in operation).
- 1968 – Farm and Heating Oil (FHO)
business continued to grow and Morley purchased his first
tractor trailer to haul his own product to his bulk plant.
Realizing extra capacity he started supplying other independent
retail sites. Murray Bradshaw began working in the business
as a driver/furnace technician.
- 1972 – Purchased second retail
site in Oakland., Ontario. Dave Bradshaw started working
in the business as a driver.
- 1975 – Purchased third retail
site at Renton, Ontario.
- 1975 – Dave and Murray took over
the FHO business from their father, Morley. In the same
year they also purchased a heating business and capitalized
on the relocation of a competitor’s business by securing
many new accounts.
- 1982 – Dave and Murray purchased
the wholesale business and Renton location from their father,
allowing him to fully retire from the business. The Oakland
site was sold to a third party. Over the next decade three
additional retail sites were purchased.
- 1985 – The Oakland site was repurchased.
A merger with another company in the FHO business increased
volume. David Bradshaw Holdings Inc. was formed to act as
a wholesaler to other companies.
- 1990’s – A number of retail
sites were added and the company focused on convenience
retailing to augment petroleum margins.
- 1997 – Bought out partner in the
FHO business.
- 2000 – FHO business was sold to
Ultramar, leaving the company to focus entirely on wholesale
and retail motor fuels.
- 2000 to present - actively solicited
wholesale business, adding numerous wholesale accounts and
significant volume.
- July 2002 – Signed agreement with
Imperial Oil to become their first Retail Branded Distributor
(“RBD”) in Canada, serving a large area of Southwestern
Ontario. Several company operated sites were re-branded
to ESSO.
- June 2003 – Secured second RBD
territory covering the remainder of Southwestern Ontario,
including Windsor and Sarnia.
